In 2006, The Alliance successfully introduced the Internet Safety Program to The Meadows School third grade students. Our members are currently working to expand the program to all elementary schools in Southern Nevada. Currently, sixteen CCSD schools have participated in our Internet Safety Program.
The Program
The Internet Safety program consists of a book, CD-ROM, and tutorials. These materials from IKeepSafe.org are provided to participating schools
at no charge by The Alliance.

The Alliance Receives $500 Grant
In January 2007, The Alliance receives a $500 Grant from the AMA Alliance to introduce the Internet Safety Program to the Clark County School District. The grant was applied for by 2006-7 Internet Safety Chairperson, Swati Khamamkar.
Official Launch with Clark County School District

On October 3, 2007, The Alliance celebrated the successful launch of the Faux Paw Internet Safety program for Clark County's children at
William R. Lummis Elementary School during an assembly with the school's Third Graders and
Miss America 2007, Lauren Nelson. Ms. Nelson, whose platform is internet safety, read the Faux Paw "Adventures in the Internet" to the third graders. Symantec Internet Safety Advocate, Marian Merritt, addressed the children, teachers, and parents about online safety for kids.
At the event, Walter Rulffes, Superintendent of Clark County School District, the fifth largest school district in the nation, announced that the CCSD will make the Faux Paw Internet Program available to its schools.

The Alliance Receives $5000 from Symantec

On December 13, 2007,
Symantec presented a $5,000 grant to The Alliance to continue its Internet Safety program in Southern Nevada elementary schools. Internet Safety Advocate, Marian Merritt, presented Vicki Cihon the check at
Crestwood Elementary School. IKeepSafe.org was on hand to present Dawn Gibbons, the First Lady of Nevada, her award in recognition for her efforts to protect the children of Nevada for internet safety as well as drug and safety issues.
After Symantec Internet Safety Advocate, Marian Merritt, addressed onine safety issues, the children were invited into the Symantec "Connected and Protected Mobile Tour" tractor-trailor sized internet classroom.
